Welcome to Appomattox Primary School!

It is a privilege to welcome you to Appomattox Primary School, where we have the opportunity each day to help our youngest Raiders learn, grow, and discover all that they are capable of becoming.

At APS, we know that the primary years build the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Our dedicated teachers and staff work to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where children are known, valued, challenged, and encouraged. We want our students to develop strong academic skills while also growing in confidence, independence, curiosity, and kindness.

Our school expectations—Be Kind. Be Safe. Be Thinking.—are at the heart of the community we work to create. From our classrooms and hallways to our playgrounds and buses, we help students understand that how we learn, how we treat others, and how we contribute to our community all matter.

MISSION

Our mission is to ensure all students, upon graduation from ACPS, will have learned the skills to become productive and contributing citizens at the local, state, national, and/or global level and that all students learn in a safe, nurturing environment that engages school personnel, students, parents, and community members as collaborative partners. 

VISION

All ACPS students will be provided the opportunities to be successful in his/her educational goals.  We believe in the importance of actively involving all community stakeholders including families, students, staff, and community partners in our commitment to the success of all students.
