Students should not bring or have movie prop dollar bills at school. These fall into the category of toys which should not be brought to school. Attempting to use or spend this fake money is illegal and can get you into trouble here at school or in a business. Please keep your fake money at home.

Lets ramp up our Raider football team to victory!
Anyone interested in trying out for MS Girls Basketball, we will start having open gyms in a couple weeks. You must have a completed VHSL physical turned into Mr. Kenny to participate.
You must sign up to come so that your physical can be verified. There will be a list starting next week on the girls locker room door.
You will be asked to leave if you do not have a 24-25 physical on file and are not properly dressed to play basketball.
The first Open Gym will be Monday, October 21st; your ride must pick you up by 5 p.m.
On November 4th at 6 p.m., the PTO will be hosting a Student/Staff vs. First Responders Dodgeball Game. We need both kids and staff to sign up. A sign-up sheet will be in the Main Office. The cost for this event will be $5 at the door.
Boys Open Gym for basketball will be today from 5:40 - 7 in the AMS Gym. You MUST have an AMS physical to participate.

FFA Forestry Judging will practice at ACHS on Monday and Thursday until 5:00. You must have returned your Land Lab Waiver for the year to participate. Please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and bring your note to ride the Activity Bus to ACHS.
Horse Judging will not practice for the remainder of October. We will announce when practices resume.

The Appomattox Marching Raiders competed in the 50th annual Lynchburg Classic Competition for the first time in the 3A Division. We finished with second place in Music, Marching, General Effect, Color Guard, and second place overall in Class 3A.
This past weekend, Hurricane Helene damaged and changed the lives of many people. Starting this Monday AMS has decided to team up with Gleaning for the World to help gather items for people in need. The donation list will be on posters around the school with the list of items and more information. ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE TURNED IN BY FRIDAY OCTOBER, 11TH TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER. The homeroom who donates the most from each grade level will be given a reward that will be determined at a later date.
The Appomattox Middle School annual fall Scholastic book fair will take place October 7 through October 11. Students will have the opportunity to shop during the school day and families can shop after school October 9 from 3 pm to 5 pm. Parents can set up an eWallett account for digital payments by visiting the website on the flyer. Thank you for supporting our school.
