Last night the AMS Track and Field Team competed against Rustburg, Linkhorne, Sandusky, Brookville, and CVCS in their first home meet of the season. Several student athletes placed in the top 3 last night.
Our GIRLS took home 1st in the 4x800m Relay, and took 2nd place in the 4x400m relay. Elly Nash placed 1st in the mile with 5 minutes and 40 seconds, and 1st in the 800m with 2 minutes and 37 seconds. Jamiya Troxler placed 1st in shot put with 33 feet.
For our BOYS: Xa Moseley took 1st in the 100m dash with 11 seconds, and placed first in long jump with 19 ft. 2 inches. Jeremiah Hodge placed 3rd in the 400m dash with 1 minute 1 second.
Congratulations to all track team members! Our Raiders will compete against several teams at the Amherst Invitational on Friday. Good luck Raiders!

Congratulations to the Horse Judging Teams, they competed at the EquiSmartz State Competition on Saturday and placed as follows:
Team 1: Autumn Harris, Gracie Covington, and Lainey Hamilton - placed first
Team 2: Montana Moore, Kat Broyhill, and Rose Broyhill - placed 4th
Individuals placing: Autumn Harris - 1st, Lainey Hamilton - 5th, Montana Moore - 7th, Kat Broyhill - 9th, Gracie Covington - 12th, and Rose Broyhill - 15th.

Congratulations to the boys and girls Track Teams at Saturdays Big Red Invitational in Rustburg. The boys placed 2nd and the girls came in 3rd for overall winners.
Courtnee Holland placed first in the 100m, 200m, and long jump. Elly Nash placed first in the 1600m, 800m, and was part of the 4x800 relay team that placed first. Hailey Thompson placed second in the long jump and the 4x800 team that placed first. Jamiya Troxler placed first in shot put. The girls also placed 3rd in the 4x400 relay.
Xa (Zay) Moseley placed 1st in the 100m, 200m, first in triple jump and first in long jump. Ji Ferguson, placed 2nd in the 100m, 2nd in high jump, and 2nd in long jump. The boys 4x100 team also took home first place.

The meat judging team competed in the State FFA and 4-H Meat Evaluation Career Development Event on the Virginia Tech Campus on March 4. The team placed 7th in the FFA Division and 5th in the 4-H Division
Basketball parents: The Middle School girls basketball team will be recognized next Wednesday at the J.V./Varsity game(the girls will get in free).
