Appomattox County School Board Regular Monthly Business Meeting
The following information items were presented:
I. The School Board recognized students from the following groups for their academic and athletic achievements:
Boys; Basketball
Chorus
National Park Service Appomattox Student Internship Program
FFA
Girls' Basketball
Indoor Track
Swim
II. Business/Finance/HR Update - The update from the Business/Finance department included a glance at the FY25 budget development and health insurance options. The Human Resources department reported several open positions to be filled before next school year.
III. High School Renovation and CIP List - Appomattox County High School will continue to undergo renovations and updates this summer; all schools will receive needed upgrades this summer using CIP funds.
IV. 2024-2025 Special Education Annual Plan - School Board members reviewed updates to the next year’s Special Education Annual Plan.
V. Summer School 2024 Plans – Mrs. Mary Sherry, Director of Student Services, provided details of ACPS summer school 2024.
VI. Class Size Report – Dr. Cheryl Servis reviewed information on the ACPS class size report.
VII. The School Board approved the following items:
