Early Childhood Special Education
The Appomattox County Public Schools Early Childhood Special Education Program consists of a continuum of services based on the needs of each preschool age child in Appomattox County who qualifies for Special Education services. Students who participate in the program are between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. All students are supported in their least restrictive environment, The IEP team will determine the least restrictive environment for each student and what services and supports the child needs to participate in preschool with peers. This preschool class is taught by a Virginia state certified teacher and a highly qualified group of educators who specialize in early childhood development and education. The curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features inquiry, exploration, and discovery as the foundation of all learning.
